These documentary shorts all feature people who had some connection to the Richmond Olympic Oval and its grounds. Artists Janet Echelman, Susan Point and Buster Simpson invite us into their process for creating their on-site public art works. Lead architect Larry Podhora and landscape architect Joe Fry talk about their vision for the project. Five members of Canada’s National Speed Skating team, including three gold medalists, muse about their process and inspiration.
These ten documentary shorts, completed in 2011, were commissioned by the City of Richmond’s Public Art Program. Many people, organizations, and institutions deserve our sincere thanks, in particular Eric Fiss, Public Art Planner, Mark Curry, Video Editor, Tony Simas, City of Richmond, and all of the people who sat in front of our cameras and talked about their work.
